Swiftdrain was selected to design and deliver a comprehensive trench drain system for the Orion Amphitheater, ensuring superior water management for both the exterior site and interior stage area. This large-scale entertainment venue required a durable, high-capacity drainage solution to handle surface runoff while maintaining safety and aesthetic appeal.
Phase 1: Heavy-Duty Exterior Drainage System
The first phase of the project focused on drainage for the surrounding parking lot and site structure. Working alongside Motivated Electric, Swiftdrain supplied a heavy-duty 300 Series polymer concrete trench drain system, engineered for:
- High load-bearing capacity, capable of withstanding heavy vehicle and foot traffic
- Efficient stormwater management, preventing pooling and surface damage
- Long-lasting durability, with polymer concrete channels resistant to weathering and environmental stress
Following the successful installation of the exterior system, Swiftdrain’s expertise led to an additional contract to supply a specialized trench drain solution for the interior stage area.
Phase 2: Interior Stage Drainage Solution
To enhance safety and functionality within the performance space, Swiftdrain designed and furnished a custom T-shaped trench drain system featuring a central catch basin for optimal water collection. The system was tailored for seamless integration into the stage design, incorporating:
- ADA-compliant, decorative heel-proof grates, ensuring accessibility and protection for performers and crew
- Strategic water flow management, preventing accumulation in critical areas
- Aesthetic compatibility, blending drainage components with the architectural style of the venue
